CO₂ Fractional Laser
CO₂ Fractional Laser at Glaze Clinic
What is CO₂ Fractional Laser?
The CO₂ Fractional Laser is an advanced skin treatment that evaporates the top layer of skin (epidermis) in a controlled manner. This stimulates the skin to produce new collagen and renew itself. The result is smoother, firmer, and healthier skin with a fresh glow and an even complexion.
What skin problems can we treat?
The CO₂ laser is effective for:
• Stretch marks (pregnancy stretch marks or after weight loss)
• Acne scars and surgical scars
• Fine lines and wrinkles
• Pigment spots and sun damage
• Large pores and rough skin texture
• Sagging skin
On average, 4 to 5 sessions are needed for optimal results, with follow-up appointments every 5–6 weeks.
Preparing for treatment
• Please arrive at Glaze Clinic 1 hour before your treatment so we can apply a numbing cream. This will take effect for an hour to ensure a more comfortable treatment.
• No sun or sunbed for 2 weeks.
• Do not use retinol, acids or vitamin A 1 week before treatment.
• Do not use self-tanning products.
• No make-up on the day of the treatment.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol.
Contraindications: when is it not allowed?
The treatment is not suitable for:
• Pregnancy or breastfeeding
• Active skin infections or skin cancer
• Recent sunbathing or sunburn
• Use of medication such as Roaccutane or blood thinners
• Psoriasis or serious skin conditions
• Hypersensitivity to scar formation
• Use of certain antibiotics or antidepressants
What is the treatment like?
-
Intake & skin analysis: we examine your skin and discuss your expectations.
-
Laser treatment: the laser creates microscopic channels in the skin, which evaporates the top layer of skin and stimulates collagen production.
-
Recovery: The skin may be red and swollen, sometimes with scabs or flaking. This is part of the healing process.
-
Result: You will see improvement within a few weeks, but the final effect will build up over several sessions.
Healing process after CO₂ Fractional Laser
The recovery takes place in several phases:
-
Immediately after treatment (days 1–3)
The skin is red, swollen, and feels warm—similar to a sunburn. Small scabs may form. -
Recovery (days 4–7)
The redness subsides, the swelling disappears, and the skin begins to peel slightly. This is a sign that the old skin is giving way to new, healthy skin. -
Regeneration (weeks 2–4)
The skin gradually becomes smoother, more even, and firmer. Redness may persist longer in sensitive skin. -
Collagen building (1–6 months)
New collagen is produced in the deeper layers of the skin, further improving skin structure and elasticity.
💡 Good aftercare such as moisturizing, sun protection and avoiding irritating products will speed up this process.
